The famous caves originated from the extraction of marlstone for building material. In the course of the centuries, an underground labyrinth was made of more than 200 kilometers. Two cave systems are open for visitors. When visiting the caves, it is recommended that you wear warm clothes, because the temperature is between 9 and 11 degrees. In the high season, tours are offered in German and English (for specifics see website). The caves are accessible by wheelchair.
