During the season of 2010-2011, Opera Zuid will celebrate the end of its twentieth anniversary; it is a milestone to be proud of with Strauss’ Der Rosenkavelier accompanied by the Limburgs Symfonie Orkest (the Limburg Symphony Orchestra).

During the rest of the season you can enjoy Offenbach’s Barbe-Bleue, also accompanied by the Limburgs Symfonie Orkest and Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore accompanied by Het Brabants Orkest (The Brabant Orchestra).

For the past five years, Opera Zuid has mainly focused on offering opportunities to young (Dutch) opera talent. An intense cooperation is formed, because the opera company’s young artists meet each other during every production. Along with guest performers, a diverse and powerful opera theatre is created. Opera Zuid is the first step to international stages for the members of the company.

The Opera Zuid singers want to make opera more accessible, by letting people hear and experience that opera is for everyone. It is played and sung by young people of this generation, artists with passion for theatre!
