The Sint Janskerk (St. John's Cathedral), located on Maastricht’s Vrijthof, is an impressive sight. The 13th century gothic church was built with red stones and houses a large number of impressive objects, like 14th and 15th century murals, memorials, tombstones and a pulpit from 1780. Binvignat built the church’s pipe organ that same year. This organ still fulfils its melodious task during concerts. If you want to know what Maastricht looks like from above, you can climb the 70 meter high church tower and enjoy a breathtaking view.
The church is accessible for wheelchairs from the side entrance.
