Additional Information
In 2009, five separate museums were conglomerated under one roof. This “super museum” is now called Grand Curtius and it displays collections from the former weapons museum, the Curtius museum, the glass museum, the Hôtel de Hayme de Bomal for decorative art and the archaeological museum. This is in combination with the collection from the Ansembourg.
The Grand Curtius, named for Jean Curtius, a weapons dealer from Liege, is near the market, directly on the Meuse river. This distinctive house with its aristocratic, red facade in the Maasland renaissance style is historic Liège's showpiece.
