The Begijnhof in Tongeren is a small town with the city. It dates back to the thirteenth century and is the oldest of its kind in Belgium. In this miniature town you will find picturesque houses in narrow streets and on nice squares. The buildings are mostly beautifully restored. The Saint Catherine Church is also part of this unique complex. The fact that the Begijnhof is on the UNESCO World Heritage List shows that it is a special and valuable place that is definitely worth visiting.
