    • Special On the first Saturday every month there are guided tours through the town to the castle. Kemenate: T +49(0)240213278

This mediaeval feature of the town with its mighty towers and walls was built on a massive chalk cliff above the town and is still enthroned up there.  The impressive building now houses various installations:  in the Knights’ Hall, classical plays and readings are presented, in the castle gallery temporary exhibitions are held and in the « Kemenate », the former women’s quarters, weddings are celebrated.
