The myth of the Orient in classical Vienna.

A popular poem in words and music about Turkish fashion and the Janissary cult in the second half of the 18th century. The performers shall recite words and texts from such writers as Rousseau, Lessing and Goethe, as well as "Letters from the Orient", written and published in Constantinople by Lady Mary Montagu, an English diplomat's wife. The musical score includes compositions by Mozart, Hayden, and Beethoven.
